Hi there! I’m Melissa Crowe, the foodie behind the blog, The Whole Crowe! I grew up on the shore in Connecticut, lived in NYC for 4 years and as of July 2018, moved to Charlotte, North Carolina with the love of my life. I’m a wife, chinchilla mom, 1st grade teacher and recipe developer so yeah, my life’s a little crazy but I love it!  I’m here to provide you easy, healthy recipes your family will love and you’ll feel good about serving to them.

Here a little bit more about me and the things I love most:

My husband: I mean, look at him. He’s utterly adorable. We met back in 2008 our freshman year of college. We were friends for a while first and then realized we kinda sorta liked each other more than friends. Long story short, after graduation we moved to NYC where I taught in Brooklyn and he worked in the financial district. Got married in 2017 and 1 year later packed our bags and moved to Charlotte, North Carolina. We spend most of our free time together either playing board games, being outside, cooking or trying new restaurants. We love it down here and can’t wait to see where our life adventures continue to take us.

My family: I have the most supportive parents in the world. They’ve always been there for me, given me advice, and encouraged my goals. They gave me my younger sister who I adore. She’s a world traveler, adventure seeker and gets me in ways no one else does. But most importantly my family has welcomed my husband in with open arms and there is no better feeling. When I married him, I gained his family too which gave me 2 additional sisters and 2 brothers! We’re all growing together and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Chocolate & Nut Butter: Confession- I’m addicted to both. But more importantly I’m ultra-addicted to the two of them combined. Nut butter cups (almond, peanut, cashew, what have you) are my guilty pleasure and you will always find jars of nut butter along with dark chocolate in my house. Check out my Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl Bread or my Healthy Peanut Butter Eggs

Ina Garten: Food has always been a passion of mine. Some of the first recipes I ever tried out were Ina’s. I watched her every day from 4-5pm when I got home from school and was always so drawn to her charm, her love of food and her goofiness. She has been someone I admire so much in the food community and probably wouldn’t be here today without her, so thanks Ina!

Dogs: I don’t have any of my own (yet), but will pet yours on the street in a heartbeat. Dogs make me so happy and waiting for the day I get my own pup!

Trader Joes: Enough said.

Outdoors: Being outdoors makes me so happy. I love camping, hiking, kayaking and walking on trails. Anything really. When I was 13 years old I got an experience of a lifetime. My parents packed up our SUV and we drove across the country from CT to CA and back stopping at countless national parks along the way. It was a long two months, but so worth it. The hubby and I also enjoy gardening. We have a little outside patio now but can’t wait to have a large garden one day.

Crafting: I’ve always been a creative person. I get that from my Nonni (grandmother in Italian). Whenever I see something I like at a store, I think of how I can make it on my own. I’ve done everything from jewelry & candle making to crocheting and wood burning. My latest obsession is my Cricut machine and making T-shirts for the amazing people in my life.

So there you have it! You know a little bit about me and I hope you enjoy your time while you’re here. In case you don’t know where to go next, below are some of my favorite recipes on the blog. Check them out and let me know what you think!
