So exciting that our baby girl is finally here and I have been waiting to show you her nursery! We decided to go with a very simple woodland themed room. I didn’t want anything that too cluttered. Just clean lines with some little DIY touches throughout. Enjoy!

When we were shopping for houses last year, I was constantly thinking about extending our family and where the baby would go. I knew I wanted her room to be close by to ours and when we found our house with a little on-suite to our master bedroom, I knew it was perfect! While she is starting to sleep with us in a bassinet next to our bed, she will be plenty close by to mama when she transitions into her crib in a few months.

We love our crib! We got it from Buy Buy Baby and its the Sorelle Providence 4 in 1 Crib in a nice crisp white color. This crib is really well made, heavy duty and not to mention beautiful. I love it and I’m so glad we went with this one! Inside the crib we chose the Newton Living Classic Breathable Mattress. Again, a love! I did so much research on crib mattress’ and for safety reasons, I chose this one. Gives mama a peace of mind at night since it is breathable.

The baby monitor we went with was the Nanit. Based on many great reviews online as well as word of mouth from family. We love it! The quality is great. I love that it connects to my phone via and app. You can talk through the monitor, place white noise, turn on a light, etc. Sold separately you can also get the breathing wearing swaddles and the monitor will alert you if baby stops breathing. Another piece of mind for a first time worried mama.

For this tiny corner of her room I knew I wanted to put a book shelf here. Sticking to a budget, I decided to put two wooden crates together with liquid nails. Super easy project. I just stained the sides and painted the inside with some paint I had on hand. On top of the book shelf is a little box that we had our cards in at our wedding. Perfect to put some little toys or more books in one day. And the little buffalo art I know totally isn’t woodland themed, but my husband is a HUGE Buffalo Bills fan, so when I saw that at Hobby Lobby, I just had to get it!

I wanted a glider chair with ottoman and looked high and low for one that was reasonably priced. Finally found this one on Wayfair and love it! It was a great price and I got the matching ottoman with it. It’s very comfortable and so far has held up great! I also love the fabric. It feels really high quality for the price.

The little side table I got on clearance from Hobby Lobby for about $22. Another score! I highly recommend a side table next to your glider. You will always have something in your hands you need to put down when your with the baby. Then on the wall behind the chair are just some cute little foam flowers I got on clearance at Michaels. Just a nice little touch to fill some of that space.

The curtains I got for her room are gorgeous! They were from Wayfair and are blackout curtains with a sheer panel that are great quality. Leaves the room really dark which helps her to sleep longer! Unfortunately I ordered the wrong size so they are too long. Hubby will eventually move the rod up to make them match the floor which will make the room look even bigger I think. A project for another day! Her little mobile above the crib is from Target. Super cute woodland animals!

My favorite section! We got this dresser from Ikea. Love it! Great quality for the price and semi-easy to put together. They had a 3 drawer or an 8 drawer option with the Hemnes Collection, I went with the 8 drawer not only for more storage but it will be great for Baby C to use later on. Next to it is the Ubbi Diaper Pail… another love! No smell and easy to use. I love that you can use any type of bags in them. On top of the dresser is the Skip Hop changing pad. I again went with this because it is easy to clean if there is any messes.. which there have been and didn’t want to deal with a cover to wash. Baby C also loves to look at the little mobile while I change her.

Now for some decor. I found this mirror for $14 at Ross and love it for the size! It’s great and baby loves to look at herself in it. The faux folage on top is from Michaels, clearance of course and the wall hanging you can see in the mirror is free! I made it myself with some driftwood from the beach I had and some yarn laying around the house. It was a super fast and easy project.

And that’s it! Super simple nursery and I love how it turned out. I went with only the essentials I knew I would need and so far we use everything in this room. I can’t wait to see how it evolves over time!

Melissa
